IGNITE IGNITE is a young student initiative at the University of St. Gallen that creates insights into and practical projects on purpose-driven business. Why purpose-driven business? Globally, only about 13% of the workforce is actively engaged at the workplace. This leads to a lost human potential and a lack of living up to companies´ potential to address societal challenges and positively contribute to the community around them. That´s exactly where purpose-driven business comes in: Oriented towards a higher societal purpose this approach to business affects the leadership, company culture and social impact of respective companies. Employees are the core of a business: their work is purpose-driven and contributes to the vision of the company. Purpose-driven business focuses on and combines both the company and the individual level. Why IGNITE? IGNITE strives to advance purpose-driven business at the University of St. Gallen. The non-profit initiative was founded as a project of the Student Union of the University of St. Gallen in 2015 and is supported by an international network of academic and corporate vision partners. IGNITE realizes three formats: IGNITE Conference in November 2015, a platform for theses and practical projects.
